Photos of The Week

This a art statue named "The Miraculous Journey" by British artist Damien Hirst, and is in fornt of the medical and research center in  Doha, Qatar. Sorry to Mr Hirst, but I personally do not like this statue because this is so weird and grotesque! I know this is for "art" but I think most of the people think it is not beautiful. This statue reminds me "2001: the Space Odessey", which is a one of masterpeace films. The final seen of the film is exactly same taste of this statue. I watched that movie in this summer, and I did not like. I think I'm not a SF person at all. I'm rather practicul than imaginative or SF dreamer. I can understand what SF novels or movies or art are trying to tell, but I'm not moved by these stories. And this statue is also not for me. Imagine that if this statue is build in front of your house. OMG.

  1. I didn't like this photo either, but I found funny that you chose the photo you didn't like and wrote a lot of sentences for explaining the reason why you dislike.

  2. I agree. It's an awful looking thing. Hirst became famous for exhibits including a dead sheep in a glass case filled with formaldehyde to keep it looking fresh. I didn't see the point of that either, but art is a strange world. If a few famous people say it's great, lots of people seem to feel they have to agree.

  6. Wow! Looks disgusting! Baby in the belly must be cute because of its size, if it's not a that small like this statue which is rather BIG, I think it is something makes people unpleasant. Sorry to Mr. Hirst.
